Hello, and welcome to registration for the IGLFA World Championships London 2008.

Registration for London 2008 is online through our registration website. Registration is available for:

  • Players
  • Team staff
  • Supporters
  • Officials

Registration is self-service, including the ability to check registration details at any time and to make changes. You will receive email confirmation of your registration and any changes.

For teams, there are two stages to registration. The first stage is for the team manager or nominated team representative to register that their team(s) will play in London 2008. This involves providing the team name, contact details, and selecting whether you are entering your team for men's 11-aside, women's 11-aside (division 1) or women's 7-aside (division 2). To register your team (except ‘outreach' teams), you will have to pay the IGLFA team fee of $25.

Team registration will close on the 1st August 2008.

Once I have set up your team on the registration site, the second stage is for players, team staff and supporters to be able to register for your team. Each registrant will be charged the relevant fee;

  • £65 from 1st May 2008
  • All players must pay the IGLFA individual player fee of $15

Individual registration will close on the 24th August 2008.

For team staff, such as non-playing managers/coaches and masseurs etc. there is a £25 fee.

If you are a match official - referee or referee's assistant, there is no fee but you must wait to receive confirmation from the IGLFA Referees Director to confirm your place at the tournament..

For all supporters, including those for outreach teams, there is a fee of £25.

For all people paying fees, there is a cancellation fee of £10. There is no charge for substitutions.

All registrants will be asked to provide relevant contact and personal details and you are requested to upload a photo for your ID badge before arriving in London for accreditation.

All registrants will be able to apply for hosted housing on the registration site. You will also be able to purchase London 2008 merchandise and entrance to social and cultural events, as they become available.

ENSURE YOUR PHOTO IS PASSPORT QUALITY

The picture needs to be of a size and quality that would be accepted for a passport. So no pictures that include someone’s body or do not clearly look like them in 2008. Head and shoulders only please.

The reason for this is because their ID card will be checked before they are allowed to play in the tournament and for many of the tournament’s events. Security staff will not allow entry if they cannot verify someone’s identify as a participant in the tournament.

JPEGs or GIFs can be uploaded and the file size must be less than 10 Mb.

If someone’s photo is insufficient, they can go into their registration record and change it themselves.

Anyone whose photo is not to standard before we print the badges – about a week before registration starts – will have to queue, possibly for a long time, to get their picture taken and their ID pass made!

Don’t leave registration until the last minute

Payment for London 2008 is by PayPal only. If you already have a PayPal account, you need to go to www.PayPal.com and check your debit card or credit card details are current and correct before you will be able to use PayPal to pay for your registration.

Remember that sometimes we have experienced network or technical problems with our registration site or PayPal’s and anyone would be foolish to leave registration until the last minute.

All registrations must be complete and accurate in every detail. This is for safety and legal reasons. Amending registration records is self-service – registrants can do it for themselves and do not need to contact any of the London 2008 team to make changes.

We hope all of this is clear, but if you have any queries, please contact me at brian@londonwc2008.co.uk
